Acceptable use
Capture and archive media you have rights to.
GrabIt is a private Mac utility for saving lawful copies of media you own, created, licensed, or otherwise have permission to use. It is not a tool for bypassing access controls, violating copyrights, or ignoring source terms.
Allowed uses
- Archiving your own recordings, streams, lessons, performances, demos, talks, or reference material.
- Saving media you have licensed, purchased with download rights, received with permission, or created for a client or class.
- Capturing public-domain, Creative Commons, open-license, or otherwise reuse-permitted material while following the license terms.
- Keeping personal research, accessibility, transcription, teaching, or editorial reference copies where the law and source terms allow it.
Not allowed
- Using GrabIt to infringe copyright or redistribute media without permission.
- Bypassing DRM, paywalls, logins, technical access controls, or private access restrictions.
- Capturing private, confidential, or non-consensual material.
- Using captured media in a way that violates a source's terms, creator rights, publicity rights, or applicable law.
Your responsibility
You are responsible for confirming that you have the right to capture, store, edit, publish, or share any media you process with GrabIt. When in doubt, ask the rights holder or do not capture it.
